I Went To Universal...

...and all I got was this t-shirt.

THIS AWESOME T-SHIRT. Random fact: I love Lucy. I have since I was a kid and I still do. Lucille Ball and the show will always hold a place in my heart, and now they hold a place in my closet! Best purchase ever.

I had a blast at Universal! I've never been on rollercoasters before but I LOVED them. The first ride I went on was The Hulk and it was great. My favorite rides were Dueling Dragons (both fire and ice) and The Simpson's ride. Amazing! My fear or coasters is officially crushed. Here are some highlights (or moments where my dad told me to stand in front of something so he could snap a picture of me):

American Graffiti is a great flick.

The Lucy Tribute exhibit was just...magical. I had a huge grin on my face the entire time and I wanted to buy the entire gift shop, but (un)fortunately I refrained. Walking around the park for hours made me appreciate being healthy even more. When I was obese I couldn't fit in rides or stand walking for one hour, let alone multiple. I'm so glad that I'm now able to do things that I could never do and I'll never take them for granted. My first experience at Universal was perfect. Perfect weather, perfect coasters, perfect Lucy fangirling. Just...perfect.

However, my eats today weren't very interesting.

I'm cheap so I brought my own food. I packed this Clif bar with some baby carrots, an apple, and a Florida orange (I'm obsessed). The apple was beginning to turn into applesauce by the time I ate it, but everything else did the job.

Tonight I was too tired to cook, so I just popped a leftover black bean burger in the oven. I whipped up a batch of my vegan mayonnaise and mixed it with hot sauce and cilantro and topped the burger with that, cheddar Daiya, baby spinach/arugula, and tomato. I could probably eat these every night for the next month and still be satisfied.

Now I'm going to curl up to some Tazo ginger green tea and try to force my tired body to do yoga before bed.

  1. Ah sounds like you had a great day girl! I hear you on being cheap. They charge WAY too much to eat there!

  2. It was the best day I've had here so far. :) It's ridiculous - I got a bottle of water and it cost almost $3!

  3. What does your shirt say? ...I can't figure it out! Haha.

What kind of bread do you use for your burgers? It looks a lot like the kind I bought from the store---deli flats, or something. They're way better than hamburger buns!

I'm glad you had a good time! I've never been to Universal, but I <3 Jurassic Park.

  4. I should have waited until someone else could take the picture. :P It says "Vitameatavegamin" then below Lucy's face it says "Happy peppy people". It's from an I Love Lucy episode.

Arnold whole wheat sandwich thins. They come in handy because I don't like a lot of bread on my burgers.

Jurassic Park is an awesome movie! I like the second one, too.
