Salad monster with romaine, carrots, cucumber, summer squash, chickpeas, clover sprouts, a drizzle of red wine vinegar + olive oil with S&P and oregano.
Complete with olive Food Should Taste Good tortilla chips (LOVE these) and perfectly crisp grapes.
All together now (with strawberry sparkling mineral water - always better in a fun glass).
Not only am I stuffed, but I'm totally rejuvenated after doing 20 minutes of Gentle Hatha 3 and 35 minutes of Power Yoga 4, both from Yoga Download. This was my first time doing the Power Yoga routine and I loved it. There is an intense focus on compassion and love for yourself and others in this flow which I really enjoy, plus the poses made me feel stretched and refreshed. I might do some Core Yoga or Yoga for Buns (mostly for kicks) later as well. I love yoga!
Namaste (excuse the sweatiness).
Now that's my kind of salad! So glad to hear that you've discovered lunch as a meal.
ReplyDeleteNothing beats whole, fresh foods. :)
ReplyDeleteI have the same yoga pants! (Random, I know)
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your blog for a few weeks now, so I figured I'd introduce myself. Hi! I'm Nikki. :-)
I'm jealous of the yoga pose. Broke my foot 3.5 weeks ago, still 3 weeks to go before I can start walking again without a boot and many more weeks before I can do high-intensity anything (like dancing). Every time I see people running/lifting weights/biking/exercising in general, I ache inside. I'm used to hiking 12 miles on the weekends, backpacking, running, dancing, swimming....yoga is the key to not hurting yourself. :-)
Keep up the great blog! Oh, and as far as good salads---Sweet Tomatoes, if you can find it near you, is *awesome.*
Aren't they awesome? I love that they're eco friendly. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Nikki! It's nice to meet you, I'm Krystina. I hope your foot heels soon so you can get right into your work outs.
I've heard of Sweet Tomatoes and I think there is one near me, so I'll check it out!
